Music as Worship
Music is a vital part of Christian worship! So much so that we view the congregation as the first and most important music ensemble. Additional opportunities for musical leadership are also available.
Our Chancel Choir rehearses on Sunday mornings from 9:00–10:00 am and leads vocal music in worship. For ages junior high through adult, no audition is required; all voices are welcome! The Chancel Choir presents special music for the Easter and Christmas seasons.
Our Chancel Bells rehearse on Sunday mornings from 11:30 am–12:30 pm, and participate in worship three to four times each fall and spring. The Chancel Bells is for ages junior high through adult and the ability to read music is required.
Our Children’s Choirs meet during children’s ministry activities on Sunday. Each choir learns not only songs for inclusion in worship, but also important leadership skills for worship.
Worship at FPC utilizes all styles and genres of music as appropriate. While normally led by organ and piano, music often is best expressed through various acoustic instruments such as guitar, trumpet, violin, and other instruments. If you have questions or would like to connect with our Music Ministry, please contact Daniel Fry, Interim Director of Music Ministries.
